Now That Donald Trump Is President, Do MLM’s Still Need Retail Customers?Posted by naxumadmin / February 28, 2017
Last week I was attending the 1st MLM Startup Convention of 2017 put on by Mike Sheffield and Jeff Babner in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In the room where dozens of manufacturing companies, entrepreneurs, and MLM veteran distributors all eagerly digging into the topic of starting their own MLM, Party Plan, or Direct Sales company.
In the hall, I heard an attendee say “Now That Donald Trump Is President, Do MLM’s Still Need Retail Customers?”
What a statement. It’s iconic of the misrepresentation that got the industry into challenges in the first place and prompted me to write this article.
The answer is YES!
It will always yes. Our industry is built not on companies full of only distributors, but the very foundation of EVERY long-term successful direct sales company is retail customers. If you have a company where EVERYONE in the downline is a distributor, you are running a pyramid scheme. There must be retail customers in your deal.
I do get the intent of the statement. The Trump Presidency does look like it will have a pro-MLM stance from the onset and that is exciting, but it does not mean companies are to go backwards. Gathering retail customers is a good thing and it’s the smart way to build solid, long-term, residual income.
Retail customers are here for the product and service, not the income opportunity, this means that as long as you continue to deliver the expected product or service, you’ve got cash flow.
So what does this mean for you as a company?
More than ever, it is time to create real retail customer acquisition plans. Add an initiative to provide done-for-you social media content about your products to your members, host customer only replicated webinar closing presentations, and provide training on how to gather and sell retail customers.
You’ll be happy you did.
