Does Holiday Marketing Work?

Posted by naxumadmin / January 6, 2023

The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year. It’s a time when families get together. For different fields, the holidays mark different times. For example, the medical field sees an increase in virus cases. For the restauranteurs, it’s one of their busiest seasons. The same goes for apparel and artisanal entrepreneurs. If we’re going with the same logic, it is no wonder why everyone and every place usually starts holiday marketing after the Halloween season.

However, with the rise of anti-consumerism movements, you have to ask: does holiday marketing really work, and is it acceptable to take part in holiday marketing?

The simple, ideal answer would be yes, it works and it is perfectly acceptable to take part in holiday marketing. Let’s unpack that.

Holiday marketing works because people are drawn to what is relatable. As emotional beings, humans respond well to holiday marketing because it reminds them of a good memory during their childhood, tradition, or even family.

For businesses, holiday marketing is the best time to advocate and promote their branding. This also offers opportunities for client retention promotions like giveaways or deals. For some companies, this is the best time to highlight their new holiday-exclusive products and services.

Aside from being relatable and targeting human emotions of reminiscence, the holiday season is known for the time most people have money in their pockets. It is the season of bonuses and additional payments and therefore, is the perfect time for them to spend. This is also the season when people look for things to purchase for their loved ones. Because it is 2023, people’s wants have evolved. More people go look for deals for products and services. They gift it to their loved ones.

This is also the season to highlight any and all corporate social responsibility activities your company values. While it is the perfect time to market, it’s also the perfect time to give back. Remember, people today respond to causes. What you value will resonate with others and bring the right customers and clients to your doorsteps.

Overall, the holiday season is a gift in itself for everyone. It offers opportunities for driving up sales, giving back, and opportunities for client retention. What does holiday marketing mean to you? How have you celebrated the holiday season? Let us know!
