Should I Focus On The Product Or Opportunity In My MLM?
Posted by naxumadmin / September 2, 2015
Daily, thousands of distributors around the world are asking themselves this very question. As a top leader or owner of a network marketing company, it is your job to set the culture straight and lead your tribe.
Across the globe today there are literally thousands of different network marketing companies. More then a comp plan or car bonus, the true differentiator we see time and time again (especially when you look at the last 50 years) is the product.
MLM’s are ranked by the DSN every year. Here are the 2017 Rankings
You’ll notice that EVERY single company on this list has more customers then distributors in their company. You’ll see industries from wellness to beauty to electricity and all will have one item in common, the product.
There has been a trend for years where marketers have built companies quickly based on the potential for financial gain. Every time this has worked, the product backed up the claims. You see if you plan to build a REAL network marketing company that is going to be around for a VERY long time, then the product, and making it easy for your distributors to share the product is really your first step.
What about me…I have a physical product, how can I share this long distance?
Tools like video email have made it simple today to share your product and testimonies long distance with prospects around the world. If your product is both physical and consumable, free sample programs can truly open up major possibilities.
:: Case Study ::
Since I currently work with over 40 network marketing companies, privacy is a must, I will share this case study as opportunity MLM-T. Opportunity MLM-T is well known for their success in building a customer centric model. The entire focus of their opportunity is to use technology to gather as many paying customers as possible through free trial offers and automated followup technology to encourage reorders.
Opportunity MLM-T has done this so well that distributors have noticed something different about this company. Their checks stay around longer, attrition is lower, because the people that are in their organization are here for the PRODUCT.
Opportunity MLM-T has really perfected the process by making it easy for distributors to send a sample from their backoffice, automatic personalized autoresponders go to the prospect to share with them how to actually take the product(and what to expect from it). The distributor can then easily follow up with a special offer for a reorder.
The beauty of Opportunity MLM-T is that they have made it easy for their distributors to get customers. The real magic in the model is using technology to turn that customer into a distributor.
That all comes with rewarding the correct behaviors. If you want your distributors to simply share samples of your product, why not reward your customers to do the same?>
A simple customer referral program that allows your customers to “refer 4 and pay no more” OR “refer 3 for free” can do exactly that, reward behavior. By allowing your distributors to “help” their new customer refer 3 for free to get their next order of product for FREE, you are in essence training that new customer to be a distributor and preparing them to have a business of their own.
In the end you have to make a decision. Is your company going to be built on a one-time trend from a leader or the market, or are you going to do the work to create a loyal base of customers, that genuinely want to share the value they receive in your product with others?
The choice is yours!
